Hammer, Jigsaw and washing machine

There are three anecdotes that I like to use when talking about training:

If you are attempting to put a jigsaw puzzle together it is much easier if you have the lid of the box which shows an image of the completed puzzle, i.e. know what you are trying to achieve!
Your washing machine probably has over 20 programs that you can use, but if you are like me, you only ever use 2 or 3 of them, i.e. identify what features you plan to use regularly but remember where the manual is in case you occasionally need to do something different!
In the past I fitted several replacement hammer handles by shaving the outside of the handle until it would fit in to the hammer head; then one day I purchased a handle that had some instructions on it, this told me to use a saw to cut a slot in the handle so the head could compress the wood, once fitted the head was held in place by driving a wedge into the slot, i.e. make sure you are doing a task in the most efficient way with the right tools!
